Midfielder Hugh Murray serves the final match of his suspension as St Mirren entertain Rangers on Wednesday.
Dennis Wyness is still out injured, while Chris Smith, Tom Brighton, Steven Robb, Stephen O’Donnell and Franco Miranda remain on the sidelines.
Midfielder Lee McCulloch is the latest injury absentee for Rangers.
Defender Kirk Broadfoot has failed to recover from a foot injury, striker Kenny Miller is still missing and Kevin Thomson is out until September.
St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson:
“If any club loses two of their more experienced players, it’ll weaken the team.
“We’ve lost some important players in recent weeks as well. Inevitably, it weakens you.
“But Rangers have a strong squad, they’ve got plenty of players to select from, and the players that come in have invariably had international recognition as well.
“We can only concentrate on our group of players and focus on what we’re strong at.
“We’ve got to try to make the game as difficult as we possibly can for Rangers.
“We had an excellent performance in the last home game against Celtic in the cup.
“We’re looking for a similar performance, if not better.”
Rangers manager Walter Smith:
“We have three games in six days and we will focus on that.”
“It’s going to take good performances.
“In recent weeks, ours have been mixed and that is something we have to adjust to more than anything else.
“We didn’t play nearly as well at Falkirk as we have done in previous matches but Falkirk pass the ball around well.
“If you are talking about games being scrappy, I don’t think we attempt for that to happen.
“We go out and try to play but we are getting to the stage of the season where there is something for everyone to play for.
